Remy Lazz is a passionate bassist and music creator whose journey through the world of music has been marked by dedication, creativity, and resilience. Since picking up the bass at 14, Remy has been a dynamic force in the music scene, performing with original bands across Connecticut and New York.
At 20, Remy achieved significant recognition with the cover band Fast Ricky, renowned for their inventive medleys that kept audiences dancing all night. This success continued with the band Crush, where Remy’s energetic performances contributed to unforgettable rock shows.
Today, Remy channels his creative energy into his project, Gumbo, alongside co-writer and best friend Ryan Camaioni. Gumbo is celebrated for its original music that spreads love and joy, with annual album releases and seasonal EPs known as “seasonal appetizers”—three tracks for each season. The duo also ventured into visual storytelling, writing and directing their first music video for the single “Johnny Slow Down.” Every Wednesday, Remy performs with Timeless Johnny’s comedy shows, adding a musical touch to the comedic experience.
In addition to his work with Gumbo, Remy records bass lines for hip hop artists, including the talented Skinny-D Williams, and has a rich catalog of solo material, including a full-length album and a 7-song EP. He frequently shares his music at local open mic nights.
Remy’s musical journey has been deeply intertwined with personal growth. Despite early challenges with learning disabilities and ADHD, music has always been his sanctuary. Overcoming battles with alcoholism through 12-step recovery has allowed him to fully embrace his artistic potential. For Remy, music is not just a passion but a cherished gift, and he remains profoundly grateful for the clarity and creativity that sobriety has brought to his life.
